The event in 2015 saw walkers leaving the start at Machen knowing that they would enjoy a dry autumnal day. The hills were quite misty and this did spoil the views for many, but we did receive reports that some walkers got above the mist temporarily on Twmbarlwm and enjoyed a wonderful inversion with only near peaks popping up above the cloud. The temperature of the day meant that walking conditions were perfect.
The event saw a total entry of 155 with 25 entering on the day. In total, there were 125 people out on the courses as there were 30 ‘no shows’.
There will be no Where Ravens Dare in 2016 due to the fact that the South Wales group is organising the 52 mile Taith Torfaen challenge event on April 9/10th 2016 followed by the very popular Rhondda Rollercoaster on May 14th 2016.

(Many thanks from the organisers for the feedback – much appreciated)
Thanks South Wales LDWA for a great well organised event today, Where Ravens Dare.
Thank u for a fab walk. The marshals were so so friendly. Thanks to Cheryl for the wicked food and thanks to John the sweeper and his encouragement.
Another fantastic LDWA event – thanks to everyone involved, my highlight was the cream cheese and beetroot sandwich at CP3. It was a gamble but got me up the next big hill.
Well done South Wales LDWA ,our 6 from Bristol had a memorable day on your hills again, pity the low cloud spoilt the views as we worked hard on all those climbs, food was fantastic especially Cheryl’s soup and cake at the end. I must thank Heather and Hugh for waitress service throughout the day, you beat us at rugby but what the heck we still love your neck of the woods!
Awesome!
Well done to all, another great event organized by SW.
This was my second Ldwa challenge walk and it was just as fantastic as the first! So well organised and even fussy me had a good feed at the checkpoints. Thank you so much, I can’t wait for the next one!!
Thanks for an amazing day & all your hard work. Hugely appreciated. Roll on the Rollercoaster
